DU hosting youth trap shoot event

SAGLE — Area youth are invited to an introduction to trap shooting on Sunday at the Sandpoint Gun Club, Gun Club Road, Sagle.

The event, which is being hosted by Ducks Unlimited, is planned for Sunday and begins at 9 a.m.

All equipment will be provided, as well as food and beverages, said Ducks Unlimited member Ken Davis

The event will start with instruction on trap shooting and gun safety and is for youth 17 years old and under.

“The first order of the day will be gun safety, and a Q and A. Most hunting accidents happen within 20 feet of the vehicle,” said Davis. “When everybody is comfortable, they’ll get to shoot at least five rounds (of trap). It’s education and a good time.”
