Roscoe A. 'Rock' Miller, 77

Roscoe A. “Rock” Miller, 77, passed away on Sept. 7, 2018, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at North Summit Church with Pastor Kyle Bostock officiating.

Rock was born on June 16, 1941, in Benton Harbor, Mich., to Roscoe and Lillian Miller. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School, earned a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State Univer-sity, and his master’s degree in agronomics from Cal Poly. Rock served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his time in Arizona, Rock was a police officer, farmed both citrus and cotton, played around at bull-riding and was a master of enjoying life.

While working for Occidental Petroleum in the Ag-Chem department, he moved to the state of Washington where he met his wife, Janis, raised three children living in Woodinville and Hansville, Wash. During this time, he operated his own sales and marketing business, retiring in 2008. In 2014, he and Janis moved to Sandpoint to be closer to family.

Rock is survived by his wife, Janis; sons, Michael Berrey (Megan Angelo) of Lake Oswego, Ore., Andrew Berrey of Sandpoint, and Kassandra (Ian) Magruder of Missoula, Mont.; and six grandchildren.
