MOSCOW — In a strong display of overall team speed, Kate Bokowy, Morgan Autumn, Sierra Speakman and Mikayla Schoening teamed up to win the 200 medley relay, and Kaya Wright teamed with Bokowy, Morgan and Schoening to win the 200 free relay during a solid showing Saturday against Moscow, Lewiston, Lake City and Bonners Ferry at the University of Idaho Pool.

Speakman also won the 100 butterfly, was fourth in the 500 free and teamed with Charlie LeBlanc, Sabrina Wilson and Kaya Wright to finish third in the 400 free relay.

“Sierra has reached performances she hasn’t seen in the butterfly since her sophomore year. We have ramped up our training, so our swimmers are not fully rested. Despite the hard work they have put in during the week, they all performed very well at the meet,” said Bulldog head coach Greg Jackson. “They are proving their tenacity, competitiveness and dedication. I am very proud of their work, and their performances.”

Bokowy won the 200 free and was fourth in the 50 free, and Morgan won the 200 IM and was second in the 100 breast in a strong showing by the girls team.

On the boys side, Jacob Ballard won the 200 free and was second in the 100 butterfly, and Garrett Bamer was second in the 50 free and 100 back in a strong show of speed and diversity.

In the relays, Bamer, Ballard, Jack Grzincic and Hayden Norling won the 400 free relay and were second in the 200 medley relay, and Chris Parker, Jake Aitken, Izaak Bartlett and William Dorman finished third in the 200 free relay.

“Incredible end of meet performances from Garrett, Jack, Hayden and Jacob leading to a photo finish victory in the 400 freestyle relay,” said Jackson of the final event. “Everyone in the pool is working hard and performing well. Jacob brings a lot of intensity to the pool which transfers really well to his teammates. Mikayla is doing well as a leader, both by example and motivation. Kate and Brianna are silent leaders, putting in hard work, providing valuable support at meets.”
