Jose Arnez, left, and Jeffrey Breakey, right, battled right to the end of the 10K portion of the Scenic Half on Saturday in Sandpoint, with Breakey eventually winning the final kick battle to finish 17th in a time of 53:48.6, just ahead of Arnez. There were 281 finishers of the half marathon distance, led by Spokane’s Brittany Bear, who clocked a 1:31.16 to edge Sandpoint’s Howard Stoddard at 1:32.13.
