Library unveils new program for parents, babies

| September 21, 2018 1:00 AM

The Library has a new program for parents and babies. The Infant Lap-Sit early literacy class gives newborns and pre-walkers a leg up with rhymes and songs followed by infant play time. More than a literacy program, the Infant Lap-Sit class is an opportunity for parents and caregivers to interact and bond with their baby while meeting other parents with small children.

Infant Lap-Sit is facilitated by Children’s Librarian Suzanne Davis who has been leading story times for various ages for 13 years. Suzanne taught READY for Kindergarten! classes for parents of newborn to 1-year-olds, which included information on early brain development. She has offered early literacy presentations for parents at Head Start and Early Head Start and partners with other organizations to provide outreach services for parents and children. She has participated in numerous early literacy trainings and is passionate and knowledgeable about early childhood development.

Join Suzanne and other parents on Thurs-day at 10 a.m. for Infant Lap-Sit. Suzanne would be happy to answer any questions you may have about this class. You can reach her at 208-263-6930, extension 1211, or suzanne@ebonnerlibrary.org.
