I feel there is a problem with those who state, “Get out and vote. Your vote counts.” It may, in election other than presidential, but if one looks back at, two of our presidential elections, there were several million voters told that their vote “doesn’t” count.

Could there be a problem with this electoral vote and a document that starts with “We the People …? Could there be a problem with telling voters to get out and vote because your vote counts when they can see in a presidential election, it really doesn’t count?

There are those who can, but choose not to vote. Our news media may have something to do with that. By the time the West Coast and Hawaii gets to vote, our news media has already “projected” the winner. We have four electoral votes here in Idaho. If the winner receives three fours of those votes, a fourth of those voters just as well stayed home, because their vote doesn’t count.

In our local primary election, one may want to vote for a person, but “must” register with that party and swear allegiance to them. If we have open primary elections, you think our representative might not be the one the “party” leaders want? One still has some power left in their vote. You can always cast it against those “Ins” that run the government many believe is corrupt and untrustworthy.
