UWNI accepting grant proposals
United Way is committed to creating lasting change with measurable improvements for people in North Idaho, envisioning a thriving community where all adults and children have access to quality education, financial stability, and good health, which are the building blocks to self-sufficiency and a high quality of life.
As part of that commitment, United Way of North Idaho officials said in a press release that the agency invests in high performing programs and services that align with its strategic priorities. The Community Care Fund is donor-designated funds directed toward quality local programs that benefit communities in the five counties it serves. Funding is granted to nonprofit organizations through a competitive application process.
Investing in local nonprofits is a standard of United Ways across the nation, officials said in a press release.
“In North Idaho, our focus is on the ALICE population — those individuals who are employed but struggling to make ends meet — and being able to capture data that shows the return on social investment we are collectively achieving,” said board co-chair Marie Price.
Organizations are eligible to apply if they are a not-for-profit agency operating in the five northern counties of Idaho, whose work aligns with United Way’s impact areas of Health, Education, and Financial Stability. Grant awards typically range from $2,500 to $10,000. Applications are accepted through Monday, October 15th.
