As promised at her 90th birthday party last Nov. 3, Mary Faux is throwing one of her many hats into the political ring. A native Idahoan and lifelong Democrat, Faux has not yet filed her paperwork with the Federal Election Commission or the Idaho Secretary of State. She is forming an exploratory committee to determine the viability of the run for office. The committee is being privately funded. Please do NOT send contributions to her campaign at this time.

An outspoken supporter of causes that are designed to help people live with dignity and realize their potential, she is a supporter of good legislation that will bring that about. “Who can disagree with that?” she asks. “Doesn’t everyone want all people to have food, shelter, education and a job to support that? Of course they must,” she says as she answers her own rhetorical question.

Mary’s inauguration in Washington D.C. will be on the capitol steps on January 21, 2021. It is expected that many from Sandpoint will travel to Washington for the occasion.

Should Mary not find success in her quest for the White House, she will run for Sheriff on the Bonner County ballot.

It is most unfortunate that this letter has to be an April Fools’ joke.
