SANDPOINT — Two long-time employees of Lakeview Funeral Home have reached significant milestones in their careers.

Lakeview office manager Audrey Oster is celebrating 25 years in the funeral industry this year, 15 of those years — and counting — with Lakeview, said owner Bart Casey.

“We just want her to be recognized for 25 years of great service to the community,” Casey said. “... I have worked with a lot of people in this business and she is the best.”

Oster has lived in Sandpoint since 1973 and has two daughters, Cammie and Angie, and one granddaughter. According to her profile on lakeviewfuneral.com, Oster is known for her genuine, caring nature and does everything in her power to do her job professionally and with sincerity.

Another notable accomplishment among Lake-view staff is Jerad Addi-son’s completion of his mortician’s license. The dual license covers the embalming and funeral directing, Casey said.

“It’s a big deal,” Casey said. “It is very difficult to get a mortician’s license ... He has the best technical skills and learned it faster than anybody I’ve ever seen.”

Addison is a third generation resident of Sandpoint and has been with Lakeview Funeral Home since 2010. He graduated summa cum laude with a mortuary science degree from Arapahoe Community College in 2017.

Addison and his wife Briana both graduated from Sandpoint High School in 2000. After high school, they traveled around the West Coast before returning home to Sandpoint to start a family. They have two boys, Jakeb and Sawyer, who enjoy the great outdoors.

Addison initially followed in his father and grandfather’s footsteps, serving the community as a career firefighter, EMT and CPR instructor.

“Over time I learned that while walking into a burning building is exciting, I was not able to personally connect with the people I was trying to help,” Addison said in his online profile. “My desire has always been to help people in a time of need. Becoming a funeral director has given me that opportunity.”
