Jean Marie Peck, 89, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

Graveside funeral services will be April 11, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Lakeview Cemetery.

Jean was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on January 14, 1930, the daughter of Eugene and Mary Ashton. She would later move to Sandpoint and work for Kmart. She was active in community affairs and organizations, anything to help the area. She was director of the C.B.A., and honored as a Woman of Wisdom. She would put on variety shows to benefit local charities and started the Festival of Trees to support the area. She won many ribbons for her flower entries at the annual Bonner County Fair exhibits.

Memorials may be made to the Panhandle Animal Shelter, in memory of Jean Peck.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Marsinah Runge, and her granddaughter, Heather Runge, both of Sandpoint, and many local friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Ashton.
