SANDPOINT — A Priest River man was arrested Friday for allegedly entering a home armed with a pistol and threatening its occupant.

Travis Frank Terracciano is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The occupant, a woman who was house sitting, told Priest River Police that Terracciano entered the home uninvited and opened his coat to reveal the grip of a handgun protruding from his pocket, according to a probable cause affidavit. The woman told police Terracciano threatened to shoot her unless she performed a sex act. The woman threated to stab Terracciano despite being unarmed, the affidavit said.

Police confronted Terracciano at his home and he admitted to being at the residence, but declined to answer any additional questions. The affidavit said Terracciano breath-alcohol level was tested at 0.22, which is nearly three times the legal limit to drive of 0.08.

A semiautomatic pistol was found in Terracciano’s bedroom, although his father doubted his son would have used to threaten anyone, the affidavit said. Terracciano’s father told police his son has suffered repeated head injuries and has multiple personalities, a condition which is exacerbated by alcohol.

The alleged victim in the case said Terrracciano was aware she was house sitting and came over on the first day of her stay and refused to leave, the affidavit said.

Terracciano, 33, made an initial appearance in Bonner County Magistrate Court on Monday. Records from the hearing were not immediately available.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for April 17.
