Lake Pend Oreille level is on the rise

OLDTOWN — The elevation of Lake Pend Oreille is set to gradually rise this week, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Outflow at Albeni Falls Dam was slated to increase from 15,000 cubic feet per second to 18,0000 cfs on Monday morning. The lake is projected to be in the 2,052.75-foot to 2,053.75-foot range this weekend.

The seasonal water supply forecast for April through July inflow volume is 82 percent of average and snowpack in the Pend Oreille basin is slightly below average.

The corps is hosting a dam operations update on Wednesday, April 24, at the Priest River Event Center. It starts at 6:30 p.m.
