City receives DEQ planning grant

SANDPOINT — Earlier this week, the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality announced the award of a drinking water planning grant in the amount of $45,000 to the city of Sandpoint in Bonner County.
The funds for the planning grant will be used to prepare a drinking water planning study, DEQ officials said in a press release. The purpose of the project is to evaluate the water system’s deficiencies and identify necessary improvements.
The total eligible cost of the project is $166,550. The remaining $121,550 will be funded by the city of Sandpoint.
