On our way home on a recent Tuesday afternoon, my husband and I took the back way home. We took Peewee Trail Road through to Quartz Creek. Well on the backside, it was ice coming down, so my husband put chains on to be on the safe side. We made it to the bottom safely and we stopped to take the chains off at Quartz Creek and Highway 57 where the pull-off is.

Well, my husband started walking toward the woods and came back a few minutes later. “Sorry I took so long,” he said. “I thought that was Peckerwood (our pit bull son).” Well I look over where he is pointing, and I saw one of the saddest, cruel, and heartless things I have ever seen. Not only did it look like my dog, which sent me into shock, but someone dumped this starved, neglected, and obviously abused dog, dead in a garbage bag that wasn’t even serving any purpose.

How anyone could even abuse an animal, not feed him, and dump him on the side of the road like he was garbage? How dare you and shame on you. I hope you don’t never have to experience what that poor baby boy went through. You know, Priest River Animal Rescue takes dogs and cats in every day and are a no-kill facility. They find loving families where they can go. But I want whoever is responsible for that heartless act.

Next time you come up Highway 57, please look over. My husband and I stopped in the rain and gave him a proper burial and he can now rest in peace.I thank God for my three sons which are pit bulls. Please anyone who want to, please leave a flower for him on his cross. Thank you and God bless
