Corinne (Korky) Tenneson

| April 24, 2019 1:00 AM

Corinne (Korky) Tenneson passed away on April 20, 2019 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

She was born in Meki-nock, N.D., on Nov. 5, 1925. She moved to California in her 20s where she married Gunnar Tenneson, also from North Dakota. They spent their married years living in California, Oregon, and Washington. Upon retiring they moved to Idaho in 1988.

Gunnar passed away in 1995. One of their sons, Steve, predeceased Corinne in 2016. Corinne is survived by one son, Michael and his wife Cheryl; five grandchildren, Gabriel, Joshua, Anna (Michael’s children), Jennifer and Joseph (Steve’s children); three great-granddaughters; and two daughters-in-law, Valerie and Beverly. Corinne always loved this poem and wanted it included in her obituary.

Rudyard Kipling (1865–1936), “When Earth’s Last Picture Is Painted”, 1892

When Earth’s last picture is painted and the tubes are twisted and dried,

When the oldest colors have faded, and the youngest critic has died,

We shall rest, and, faith, we shall need it—lie down for an æon or two,

Till the Master of All Good Workmen shall put us to work anew.

And those that were good shall be happy: they shall sit in a golden chair;

They shall splash at a ten-league canvas with brushes of comets’ hair.

They shall find real saints to draw from—Magdalene, Peter, and Paul;

They shall work for an age at a sitting and never be tired at all!

And only the Master shall praise us, and only the Master shall blame;

And no one shall work for money, and no one shall work for fame,

But each for the joy of the working, and each, in his separate star,

Shall draw the thing as he sees it for the God of things as they are!
