Audition for Festival's Community Orchestra

All instrumentalists — students, amateurs, professionals — are invited to audition for The Festival at Sandpoint’s Community Orchestra. This orchestra will perform at the Festival’s Family Concert, Sunday, Aug. 4, at Memorial Field.

The Festival’s principal conductor, Gary Sheldon, will lead an exciting program “A Musical Zoo” with selections by Haydn, Vivaldi, Verdi and Saint Saens, as well as a medley from The Lion King and “Memory” from the musical, Cats. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 5:30-8 p.m. at the Festival at Sandpoint office, 525 Pine St., Sandpoint.

Auditions are open to all orchestral instruments; please bring a solo piece of choice to perform. Please contact Rachel Gordon at 303-746-2565 or email gordon.flute@gmail.com to set up a specific audition time with Maestro Gary Sheldon. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Rehearsals will be Friday, Aug. 2, and Saturday, Aug. 3. Dress rehearsal and performance are on Sunday, Aug. 4, with pizza lunch compliments of the Festival. All volunteer musicians will receive two complimentary tickets to the Festival at Sandpoint concert of their choice. Travel stipends will be paid to musicians who are college age and above.
