SMS boys track team wins Post Falls meet, girls tie for second

Sandpoint Middle School faced its toughest competition of the season at the Post Falls meet on Tuesday night.

Along with hosts Post Falls, Lakeland and River City Middle School competed in the meet as well.

Ara Clark’s 5:47 1600 meter time was three seconds off the school record.

Meanwhile on the boys’ side, hurdlers Rusty Lee, Ryder Haynes, Cody Newhar, Max Frank and Anders Eastley finished 1-5 in the 110 hurdles to sweep the event.

The girls 4x100 (57.18) and 4x200 (2:09.91) relays placed second, while the boys’ 4x100 (53.34) placed fourth and the 4x200 relays placed third (1:53.06).

Sandpoint Middle School track and field will compete at Lake City today.
