SHS sports registration day is Wednesday

At last, the fall sports season is around the corner. But in order to participate in athletics at Sandpoint High School, athletes must complete a sports physical and register at SHS’s sports registration day on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at SHS.

Bring a parent in order to complete and turn in required paperwork, provide proof of insurance, get a student ID and purchase an ASB sticker. Insurance can be purchased through the school at this event. All paperwork and physical (if required) needs to be turned into SHS before the first day of practice in order to be eligible.

For athletes who still need physicals, the Family Health Center (located at 606 Third Avenue, suite 101) will offer reduced fee sports physicals on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. No appointment is necessary: Simply bring a parent, an immunization record and $10. Immunizations will be available for those that need them.

All incoming freshmen, juniors, first-time athletes or sophomores and seniors who have not had a physical in the previous year need a physical in order to compete. This is the last chance to take care of it before sports registration day; a copy of a physical is required on sports registration day.

Fall sports practices start on Aug. 12. Practice schedules for all teams will also be available on sports registration day.
