Aug. 6, 1969 — JUNE WEDDING

The Sandpoint First Methodist Church was the setting for the June wedding of Judy Kay Turnbull, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Turnbull of Sagle, and Russell A. Collett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Collett of Burley.

After a brief trip to the Seattle-Portland area, the couple is making its home in Burley. This fall they will return to Moscow where Mr. Collett is a University of Idaho senior, majoring in soils.

GIRLS MEET LADY BADEN-POWELL

On July 19, Girl Scout Troop 43 of Sandpoint went to Spokane to attend a picnic and rally in honor of Lady Baden-Powell, who took time out from her busy schedule at the Boy Scout Jamboree to visit the Girl Scouts.

Lady Baden-Powell gave a short talk, posed for pictures and shook hands with everyone present.

Sandpoint girls attending were Nancy Buck, Janice Applegate, Kristi Weisz, Betty Robinson, Carol Mahler, Margaret Morton, Diana Madsen, Jackie Warrer and Jackie Smith.

CHARLES F. BONARS VISITING

Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Bonar and two sons, Hoyt and James, are spending two weeks in Sandpoint with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. M.P. McKinnon, and his mother, Mrs. Charles Bonar.

Aug. 6, 1919 — NURSE FINISHES WORK

Miss Ebda Djube, who made a health survey of the county, has completed her work. “I had every assistance in my seven weeks here,” she said, “and hope my start will result in the county employing a well trained public nurse.”

DAD MEETS TRIPLETS

Thomas Moran, who gained fame on two continents as the father of triplets born while he served overseas, slipped into town last week, going to his parents’ home southwest of the city. He plans to go to Spokane to seek a position. He was a mechanic there when called to the colors in 1917. His wife and daughters will join him from Boise as soon as he finds a location.

CITY BREVITIES

Ranchers in from the upper Pack river report whitefish floating in the river and found to contain charcoal particles from the forest fires.

C.J. Shoemaker returned from Spokane where he was getting his household effects together for removal to Sandpoint. Mr. and Mrs. Shoemaker will occupy the residence at 707 Oak street.

Lawrence Moon has purchased the launch “Llew Jean” from George Dell.

Thorvald Larson, brother of Chris Larson of the J.L. & Co., has returned after his discharge from the army. A member of the 91st or Pine Tree division, he was wounded in both arms, from shell pieces, his first day in the trenches.
