All invited to be 'Bridge Builders'

| August 8, 2019 1:00 AM

The community — especially its youth — are invited to join the 7B Love Project at First Lutheran Church this weekend.

The church is hosting “Becoming Bridge Builders” workshops for adults, teens, and youth in third through fifth grades.

All workshops are free thanks to a grant from the Bonner County Human Rights Task Force. The church asks that those interested RSVP so they can properly prepare for each workshop. To RSVP, contact First Lutheran Church at 208-263-2048 or via email at office@firstlutheransandpoint.org.

On Sunday, Aug. 11, from 1-3 p.m., third- through fifth-grade youth are invited to join in games and art projects and hear as original story written by the 7B Love Project in an effort to teach and model love and welcome to everyone.

On Sunday, Aug. 11, from 3:30-7:30 p.m., Schmidt will lead the teens through activities, conversation, and more to help teenagers develop understanding of intolerance and racism. Dinner will be provided.

Adults are invited to a two-part workshop led by Schmidt. The first part will take place Friday, Aug. 9, from 5-9 p.m. and the second part will take place Saturday, Aug. 10, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
