SANDPOINT — The hunt is on for local history.

The Bonner County History Museum is excited to present the Bonner County History Hunt, a historical scavenger hunt across North Idaho. How much do you really know about local history? You can test your knowledge and bring the past to life with this interactive hunt for pieces of Bonner County history, sending you on adventures all over the county. Fun made for the entire family! So dust off your sleuthing skills and join in the fun. Each participant will be entered to win fun prizes.

The rules of engagement are simple:

- Participants will have until the Tuesday following each release date at 4 p.m. to find the answer to each clue.

- Answers may only be submitted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20; and Tuesday, Aug. 27. That means the answers to the clues released on Aug. 16 will need to be submitted on Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

- Early posts will not be admitted.

- Answers may be submitted on Facebook, Instagram, or the museum’s website and must include photographic evidence that you found the correct historical site or object.

Each correct clue will get your name entered into a drawing for fun prizes. Winners will be announced live at Movies in the Park, and via Facebook on Aug. 30. Winners need not be present to win.

The museum invites the community to join them in a fantastic hunt for history.

Once you see everyone else in the county posting photos of the adventures they are having while out history hunting, you won’t want to miss out, museum officials said.

Founded in 1972, the Bonner County History Museum has been collecting and preserving the Bonner County region’s significant stories for over 40 years.
