The painting was selected as the event’s winning art piece. Contreras has been painting since 1972 when she took a tole painting class. Watercolor had always appealed to her so, in 1992, she purchased a set and began painting in that medium. The Blanchard resident also paints fine art and folk art but it is her whimsical art that makes people smile…
