Meeting seeks evacuation data

PRIEST RIVER — A meeting is being held today, Aug. 28, to gather input about evacuating livestock and other animals in the event of a fire. The meeting is being held at 6 p.m. at the Edgemere Grange, 3273 Bandy Road, Priest River. All community residents and radio operators are encouraged to attend.

The meeting is to gather resources from community members in the area, including the Hoodoo Valley and Bonner County. Organizers will be gathering names and contact information of people who can house and transport evacuated pets and livestock

Organizers will be working director with the driector4 of Bonner County Emergency Management, Bob Howard, to compile a county-wide resource list they can use in the event of an evacuation.

Another meeting, this one at the Blanchard Grange on Sept. 9, will be held at 7 p.m. to discuss fire evauation planning of pets and livestock in the Blanchard area.
