Week unwraps bundle of holiday fun, entertainment

SANDPOINT – Christmas is just a short time away and you can feel the momentum building as the entertainment options keep getting better and better.

From the Pend Oreille Chorale & Chamber Orchestra “A Gift of Music at Christmas” to the “Jazzy Nutcracker” and everything in between, there’s no shortage of holiday fun to unwrap this week.

So, get thee out and enjoy thyself.

THURSDAY, DEC. 12

Celebrating Idaho with Carl Rowe

Venue: The Longshot, 102 S. Boyer Ave.

Time: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

Idaho Conservation League, Carl Rowe and Pend Oreille Arts Council host a two-day special art showing celebrating the diverse beauty of Idaho’s vast landscapes. Drop by anytime during The Longshot’s regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., to experience the splendor of Idaho’s diverse landscapes from ICL’s 2019 artist in residence Carl Rowe. After traveling across the Gem State during his 2019 residency, Rowe created a body of work that tells the story of Idaho.

And from 5-8 p.m., the ICL is hosting its annual holiday celebration.

Community Day

Venue: Schweitzer Mountain Resort

This fundraiser puts 100 percent of proceeds back into our community to Community Cancer Services and the Bonner Partners in Care Clinic. What an excellent way to support two truly great local organizations.

Admission: $10 lift tickets, with all money going to the above groups.

Bonner Mall Holiday Arts & Crafts Show

Venue: Bonner Mall, 300 Bonner Mall Way, in Ponderay

Time: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. – Fri., Dec. 7 (Also Dec. 8 and 9)

Enjoy holiday shopping with more than 35 magical vendors offering unique and special crafted gift items.

Community Movie Night

Venue: Davis Grocery, Davis Grocery, 620 Wellington Place, Hope

Time: 6-7:30 p.m.

‘Tis the season to be with family and community, and what better way to do that than with the holiday classic, “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Brendan Kelty Trio

With roots in Rustbelt sensibilities, western North Carolina tradition, and the Pacific Northwest wilderness, the Brendan Kelty Trio will entertain with a soulful sound drawn from gritty travel, wilderness living and personal relationships; simple but real and honest.

BareGrass

Venue: Matchwood Brewing, 513 Oak St.

Come enjoy the music as Bare Grass entertains you with their unique sound of Americana, mixed with a little bluegrass and blues and whatever else is conjured up for the afternoon performance.

‘Romance’ Ski Movie

Showing of legendary ski movie company Level 1’s latest annual movie along with Faction’s newest team movie “The Collective”.

Red Blend Trio

Red Blend, a local talented trio made up of Brian Jacobs, Meg Turner, and Chris Lynch are welcomed back to the Pend d’Oreille Winery. This trio offers a blend of soul, pop, blues, and classic hits.
