Many people have been in work situations which do not always meet their expectations. It can make going to work something one dreads rather than something they look forward to. But what if 2019 was your year to take a leap of faith? Whether it is asking for a raise, pitching a project or even starting your own business, it can begin the journey to a happier life.

On Feb. 12, 7B Women welcomes Katherine Greenland, founder of Greenland Consulting, as their guest speaker. Greenland will share with the audience her adventures as a business owner including her big wins, bold risks and solid face plants along the way. She will offer valuable lessons learned on the path from a steady 9 to 5 to starting her own company. Greenland will reveal action points for women in the workforce, as well as female business owners, to reach the next level of success. Using personal stories of inspiration and exasperation, Greenland will empower women to persist in the face of life’s ups and downs.

Greenland is a cultural innovator and inclusion strategist with over 20 years’ experience in the nonprofit sector as an educator, speaker, team builder and advisor. She left a career as a college professor to dedicate herself fulltime to activating organizations and empowering communities.

As a small business owner, Greenland values creativity, compassion and collaboration. She is passionate about building strategic connectivity between people, organizations and ideas to maximize positive social impact. These core values guide her vision and commitment to clients as a speaker, coach and facilitator.

Greenland speaks publicly on topics of inclusion and diversity, millennial mindset, women’s empowerment and transformational leadership and is pursuing a doctoral degree in leadership at Gonzaga University.

The 7B Women’s February luncheon will take place from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tango Café and is open to everyone in the community, men and women. The cost is $21 or $16 if you are a member of 7B Women, Inc. Individual memberships cost $50 per year and can be paid online at the group’s website, 7BWomen.com.

Please note that due to the high participation in the past and so Tango Café can adequately prepare for the luncheon, pre-registration is highly encouraged.

If people would like an opportunity to promote their business at the luncheon, attendees are asked to bring an item to raffle and will be given a “minute with the mic” during the course of the luncheon. Please note that 7B Women limits the opportunity for a minute with the mic to current 7B Women members only.
