| February 1, 2019 12:00 AM

North Idaho College will offer free safety training at the 11th annual Safety Fest of the Great Northwest Feb. 20-22 at the NIC Workforce Training Center in Post Falls. Registration is now open at www.nic.edu/safetyfest. Some classes have already filled and others are filling quickly.

This three-day, free event is an opportunity for companies to receive free safety training for their employees, or any member of the general public, to learn from the area’s best safety instructors. Safety Fest offers more than 40 classes to choose from for workers in construction, general industry, mining, agriculture and logging. Classes offered include OSHA 10, CPR/First Aid, Cyber Crimes and Safety, MSHA refresher, HAZWOPER refresher, Workzone Flagging, and Warehouse Safety, among many others.

Participants can receive industry credentials from some classes, and every participant receives a certificate of completion for every class they take. New classes are added every year, based on the needs of the community and the kinds of accidents that have occurred.

Safety Fest has grown from 500 registrants a year to nearly 1,000.
