Daniel Eugene Moore, 82

| February 7, 2019 12:00 AM

Daniel Eugene Moore, 82, of Laclede, Idaho, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019. Dan was born Oct. 16, 1936, in Gallup, New Mexico, to William Granville and Stella Faye (Clevenger) Moore.

His family moved from Gallup to Oakland and eventually ended up settling in Wrenco, Idaho. He attended the Wrenco School. In 1951, the family moved to Laclede. On May 3, 1958, he married Patricia Kurtz. They celebrated their 60th anniversary this past May.

Dan began a construction business with his father and brother and built many businesses, homes, and churches in the area, but nothing compares to the legacy he built when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior just before Easter 1962. He immediately became active in the Laclede Community Church, and in due time he and the congregation built the church that stands today. He was ordained as a minister of the gospel in 1977 and was the pastor of Laclede Community Church for 38 years.

During that time, Dan and Patsy raised five children. He enjoyed camping, huckleberry picking, fishing, hunting, and playing guitar with his family and at church. Dan’s greatest joy in life was being surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Morris. Dan is survived by his wife, Patsy, of Laclede; and children, Cindy (Steve) Ennis of Laclede, Penny (David) Whitaker of Laclede, Paula (Patrick) Karr of Moscow, Cory Moore of Priest River, and James (Pamela) Moore of Laclede; along with 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous grandchildren-in-law, great-grandchildren-in-law, sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held for Dan at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Coffelt Funeral Chapel in Sandpoint, with Steve Ennis officiating. Interment will be in the Seneacquoteen Cemetery and a potluck reception at the Laclede Community Center.
