Jeffrey George 'JJ' Alarcon, 64

| February 7, 2019 12:00 AM

Jeffrey George “JJ” Alarcon, 64, was delivered into the arms of Jesus on Jan. 31, 2019.

He was born on Dec. 24, 1954, in Santa Monica, Calif., to Jeannette and Edward Alarcon. The family soon moved to Montana.

Jeff came to Sandpoint in 1979 and was married to Jeri Casey in April 1980. Jeff and Jeri had three sons, Jon and Casey Alarcon and Bryan Lee Tenney. Jeff was a selfless hard-working husband and father. He was thankful for all he had — seldom complaining. He was a man of action rather than words. Jeff’s indomitable spirit and physical stamina overcame limitations which would have sidelined most other men.

Though he worked as a house painter, his passion was working with wood. An artist and master craftsman, his works ranged from custom lamps and furniture to chicken coops and bird houses. Jeff has left his mark on many homes and hearts here is Sandpoint and was well respected around our community.

He is survived by his wife, Jeri Alarcon; sons, Jon and Bryan Lee Tenney; brothers, Ron (Tracie) Hammer and Ron (Laura) Alarcon; a sister, Suzanne (Jim) McDonald; along with numerous aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a son, Casey; a brother, Stephen Alarcon; his mother, Jeanette Louise Hammer Alarcon; his father, Edward G. Alarcon; and a stepfather, Rueben Hammer.

Services will be held Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. at The Assembly of God Church, 423 N. Lincoln Ave., Sandpoint Idaho. Another service will be held when the weather is better for those unable to attend.

Family and friends are invited to sign Jeff’s online guest book at cofeltfuneral.com
