NIC to showcase 'Ciphers' exhibit

Photographer and emeritus professor of art at the University of Oregon Craig Hickman will exhibit his art show “Ciphers” in the North Idaho College Boswell Hall Corner Gallery Feb. 13-March 22.

Hickman will host a gallery walk of his work from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by a slide lecture from 4-5 p.m. in Boswell Hall Room 146, and an opening reception in the gallery 5-7 p.m., all on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Hickman is one of the founders of Blue Sky Gallery in Portland, Ore., and has been active in photography for more than 50 years as an image maker, teacher and curator. Hickman has exhibited widely and has his work in a number of museum collections. He has also had an active career in interactive digital media where he is best known as the creator of Kid Pix, a landmark children’s paint program. Apple named him one of 30 Macintosh pioneers as part of the Macintosh’s 30th anniversary. Ciphers is his latest project.

The Corner Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday. Admission to the gallery is free.
