The school bond and some of the people who are opposed to it. These folks are politically against public education, public lands, health care for military veterans and many other programs that aid our citizens. They would not support them if they only cost a dime. They spread misinformation based on their political beliefs, not on facts. They don’t believe our children are entitled to a public education, that teachers and administrators are entitled to be paid and that our schools need to be maintained.

To be a teacher, is one of the most important and selfless career decisions a young person can make, it takes work, money, dedication and drive before they ever earn a dime.

Schools are a backbone of our community. In Clark Fork I see our mayor has a sign in his yard to vote against the levy. One way to lower costs for the school district is to close outlying schools. Ask owners of businesses in the communities of Clark Fork, Hope, Kootenai, Northside and Southside how they would survive without schools. Ask Bob Hays at the Chevron Station, ask the owners of the Cenex, Pantry and Monarch Market what their businesses would be like without our schools. Our schools support us, we need to support them. The money we invest in schools pays our communities back in so many other ways, whether or not you have kids in school now, you should support education. No one should take an education away from any child.

Support our schools.
