Mountainside Volleyball Club wins Gold Bracket Championships in the Sideout Winter Classic

Sandpoint’s Mountainside Volleyball Club U14 National team competed in Mead, Wash. on Feb. 10 at the Sideout Winter Classic. Mountainside’s U14 National team pool played along with 32 other teams from the region. The region consists of teams from central Washington (Walla Walla and Tri Cities), Pullman, Central and Northern Idaho, as well as the greater Spokane County.
The National team finished first in the Gold Bracket Championship, which consisted of the top 16 teams of the 32 that attended.
The girls were ecstatic with their first championship win, and are hungry for more. The team’s coach, Jeff Hurst, a collegiate and professional volleyball player himself, is a longtime volleyball mentor in Sandpoint.
