The ponies have returned to town

SANDPOINT — The Carousel of Smiles moved its workshop into Sandpoint recently, and the community is invited to stop by this weekend — or next — at its new location in the “Cedar Street Station,” also known as the Misty Mountain Furniture building.

“The space is great,” Reno Hutchison said in a statement. “One can almost envision our new workshop resembling one from the 1920’s when these great horses were originally carved. It is exciting to be in town, and work is progressing on the next group of ponies that are almost ready for paint.”

The carousel workshop is in the corner space of the building, 502 Cedar Street, Ste. 210.

The Carousel of Smiles will also be participating in the Parade of Lights at 5:30 p.m. on Friday during Sandpoint’s Winter Carnival, with a full-size snow globe featuring “Stormy.”

The Carousel of Smiles and will host open houses on both carnival weekends, and all are welcome to stop by and see the ponies in their new stable.

This weekend’s open house hours are 6-8 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The following weekend, visitors can stop by between 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
