| February 20, 2019 12:00 AM

Escape the winter doldrums at three Live & Learn programs at the Priest River Library.

On Saturday, Feb. 23 at noon join Meagan Mize and learn to enhance embroidery work with color tinting, which uses crayons to add color and depth to projects. Step-by-step instructions and patterns will be provided. Please register for this class.

Prized for both decoration and utility, flat reed baskets have been woven for hundreds of years. Join Olivia Gennasi on Saturday, March 2 and learn how to make your own flat reed basket. The class will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and all materials will be provided. Feel free to bring a snack or sack lunch. There will be a $5 materials fee and registration is required as space will be limited.

With spring approaching it is time to start garden planning. Extension educator Jennifer Jensen will return on Thursday, March 7 at 5:30 p.m. She will discuss greenhouses, seed starting, garden planning and will present an update on the University of Idaho Sandpoint Organic Agricultural Center. Registration is not necessary for this class.
