Make a choice to have a healthy, happy celebration

| February 20, 2019 12:00 AM

If you are like most Americans, you find it convenient to use a holiday as a good excuse to eat whatever you want.

Most holidays are a festive time for friends and family and it often revolves around food. Unfortunately, there are typically a lot of high fat, sugar laden foods present at these get-togethers.

It is refreshing to know that regardless of the circumstance, we always have healthier options available to us. There are plenty of protein dishes, fruits and vegetables that are extremely healthy and delicious for any finicky eater.

What were your Valentine’s Day choices? Did you consume a lot of extra calories? If so, find comfort in knowing that today, as with every morning, when you open your eyes, you can start living a healthier lifestyle.

You don’t need to wait until Monday. Today is Wednesday, why not begin today?

An interesting little fact: A health crisis will affect you regardless of what the calendar says. You can gain weight on any day of the week that ends in a Y. It is all up to you.

Are you making the healthiest decisions every day with your lifestyle choices? Last Thursday may have been Valentine’s Day, today may be someone’s birthday, and tomorrow may be another office party. It doesn’t matter what event is currently taking place, know that you can make a decision to eat healthy regardless of unhealthy temptations.

Everyone has a different motivation when it comes to their health. I have had the opportunity to meet and work with a lot of clients over the years. Some people have a great desire for health while some people ignore it completely. Then there are those who choose to be focused for just a few weeks.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could bottle motivation? What if there were a “magic” pill that you could take when you weren’t feeling determined. Wouldn’t you like to know that there is something extremely simple that can be done to help you regain your motivation when it is lost. Surprise. There is. Look in the mirror. Let the mirror be your motivation and choose to be healthy and fit.
