EMS fussing (Daily Bee Jan. 20, 2019). The article regarding who will take over the control of the current EMS department is bereft of any reason to make a change. People have stated they want to gain control of an excellent EMS, but have not stated what they will improve and change it. Is this the usual political attempt (l do have a better noun which the editor would delete) to gain power and screw up our current excellent EMS? Why are our newly installed Bonner County commisioners so bloody anxious to let North Valley in the driver’s seat? And what kind of entity is this” better” than our current EMS? Is Jeff Lindsey a good buddy of the commissioner(s)?

Several years ago, Sandpoint utilized an EMS group which was kicked out of Montana (possibly Missoula) and which had a doctor (the doc’s position is accurately “medical director”), and a paramedic who proclaimed he was better than any physician at BGH. In spite of contracts which permitted firing both for any or no reason, the county commissioner dawdled months before he canned them. Then we installed Dr. Jenkins as the medical director of the EMS unit and he has done a great job building the EMS program. Mayor Shelby Rognstad has seen (a vision?) a potential change to “… improve the EMS system …” and nothing on what he saw needing “improvement” nor how. “Collective wisdom?”

How do I apply for the EMS advisory board?
