Dorothy J. Fowler

Dorothy J. Fowler was born July 8, 1940. She passed away Feb. 11, 2019.

Dorothy is preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy. She leaves behind her loving husband, Edward M. Fowler, to whom she would have married to for 60 years in March, her son, Stewart R. Fowler, a daughter, Cathy McMurphy, all residents of Hawthorne, Nev.; a daughter, Tammy Alexan-der of Carson City, Nev.; and six grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. She also leaves behind a loving brother, Robert Kennedy of Sandpoint, Idaho, where she was raised and met her husband.

She was born to Lillian and Alfred Kennedy in Pasedena, Calif.

She devoted her life to reading and learning. She spent 40 years doing assessor work in Douglas County, and elected assessor in Mineral County.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at 705 E. Tenth St., Hawthorne Nev.

A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held immediately following services, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, located at Ninth and A streets in Hawthorne.

Flower donations are nice, but she would appreciate donations being made to the Cancer Society.
