I want to thank the community for their support in providing academic opportunities for SHS students. Students are provided the opportunity to take AP courses in English literature/composition, calculus, statistics, biology, chemistry, environmental science, government, history, studio art and music theory. Furthermore, many SHS teachers are qualified to offer SHS students University of Idaho dual credit in pre-calculus, communications, English, computer science abd horticulture. In addition, students have opportunities to gain work place readiness skills, North Idaho College credits, and earn industry certifications through our Career Technical Education programs which include IT systems, 3D design, journalism, health occupations, culinary arts, welding, business, natural resources, and occupational training.

SHS is recognized as one of two schools in Idaho earning AP honor roll status with 354 exams completed from 163 different students. In addition, SHS students earned 768 college credits through the DC and CTE courses. Needless to say, I am extremely proud of the students and staff for challenging themselves in these rigorous courses.

These opportunities are only available through the support of the LPOSD community funding the maintenance and operation levy. This levy is about student opportunities and increasing student achievement, which requires the ability to recruit and retain highly qualified staffing as a whole.
