Inside Edge: Quincy Evans is the Sun Cup's silver queen

U14 Qualifiers — The Schweitzer Alpine Racing School hosted U14 Qualifiers for the Pacific Northwest this weekend, featuring both Super G and Giant Slalom Competition. About 200 athletes were present.

Erika Anderson placed No. 24 in Super G and seventh in Giant Slalom, earning valuable qualifying points. Avery Edmundson was No. 42 in Super G, but bounced back to place No. 14 in Giant Slalom, likewise earning points.

Crosby Schmidt was the only local boy racer, and skied solidly by placing No. 36 and No. 49 in Super G, and No. 36 in Giant Slalom. These athletes have one more set of qualifiers before the championship team is announced.

Sun Cup ­— The annual Sun Cup speed week at Mount Bachelor was snowy as usual. The organizers were able to manipulate and compress the schedule, completing all four races.

Quincy Evans had a huge weekend, finishing No. 18 and No. 15 in Super G, then amping it up to two silver medals in Downhill.

Addison McNamara narrowly missed the podium, with results of fourth and fifth in Super G.

Wesley Simko improved all of his by finishing No. 32 and No. 41 in Super G, plus placing No. 44 twice in Downhill.
