Entertainment options brim with buckets of fun
SANDPOINT — Hang on tight as we round the corner into mid-January — the calendar is brimming with fun!
Catch Bright Moments tonight for some sublime jazz at Matchwood Brewing Co., and Friday, don’t miss the POAC presentation, ‘Living Voices: Our Revolution’ at the Heartwood Center. Also Friday, there’s a Contra Dance at community hall and another Friends of the Guitar Hour concert in Post Falls.
Saturday brings an outstanding double feature in the Native Heritage Film Series at the library and Saturday evening, check out the artist’s reception with Mary Berryhill at Pend d’Oreille Winery’s downtown tasting room. Sunday afternoon will be an ideal time to swing back to the tasting room to hear Peter Lucht on their grand piano.
And the Panida? Crazy packed with great films this week!

POAC presents ‘Living Voices: Our Revolution’

‘Our Revolution’ is the story of one of many common citizens who fought to bring the words ‘All men are created equal’ to life – words with even greater meaning to an African American soldier in 1776. Friends of the Guitar Hour present Larry Almeida in Concert

If you enjoy Leon Atkinson’s weekly show, The Guitar Hour, on Spokane Public Radio-KPBX-FM, you’re in for a real treat with this ongoing classical guitar concert series.
Larry Almeida has performed throughout the U.S., and in Canada. From 1978 to
1981, he was a member of the guitar faculty at the San Francisco Conservatory of
Music. From 1982 to 1992, he taught guitar at the North Carolina School of the Arts
in Winston-Salem. He studied extensively with Michael Lorimer and Aaron Shearer
and has performed in Master classes with Leo Brouwer, Abel Carlevaro, Pepe
Romero and Oscar Ghiglia.

‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

‘Of One Heart’ introduces the Nimiipuu’s rich heritage whose stories are preserved and interpreted at 38 sites comprising the Nez Perce National Historical Park in Idaho, Montana, Washington, and Oregon.
‘Ohiyesa: The Soul of an Indian’ is a deeply personal family film that follows Kate Beane, an urban Dakota scholar, and her family as they trace the remarkable life of their celebrated relative, Ohiyesa.
The Native American Film Series is a partnership of The Idaho Mythweaver and East Bonner Co. Library Dist. and funded by Idaho Community Foundation, TransEco Services and endorsed by the Bonner Co. Human Rights Task Force.

The evening will include a multimedia presentation, and a panel featuring David Moskowitz, an expert wildlife tracker, photographer and author of the new book ‘Caribou Rainforest: From Heartbreak to Hope.’ Also joining Moskowitz is Idaho Conservation League’s North Idaho director Brad Smith.
