Clark Fork used a balanced showing on both ends of the floor to win 61-38 over Wallace on Tuesday night. In the process, the Lady Cats also avenged last season’s road win at their league foe.

“We got beat at Wallace last year, and you could tell the Lady Cats were a little more serious tonight,” Clark Fork head coach Jordan Adams said. “They took care of business on the court and I am proud of them for handling themselves they way they did.”

Tessa Sutton led Clark Fork with 17 points and eight rebounds. Senior Brooke Stevens was close behind with 16 points (including 6-6 from the foul line), nine assists, five rebounds and five steals.

Wallace’s Sarah Johnson matched Sutton with 17 points of her own, but a team-wide six-point outing in the second quarter took the Miners out of the game.

Clark Fork (6-5, 3-1 NSL) will have to make a quick turnaround, as they travel to Newport tonight. At 3-1 with a win over league power Genesis Prep, the Wampus Cats are in the drivers’ seat for a state tourney bid. Clark Fork has won three straight conference games.

Wallace, meanwhile, travels to Genesis Prep on Saturday.
