We’re faced with another property tax raising school levy in March which I was told by one of the school board of trustees was primarily for wages. However, I was stunned to learn the chief financial and operations officer of the Lake Pend Oreille School District makes $12,037.01 a month whereas the superintendent makes $14,492.50 a month. Pay raise? I don’t think so.

Editor’s note: Lake Pend Oreille School Board officials have specifically stated that under the proposed levy, the superintendent and chief financial officer will not receive a pay increase.
