Filled with adrenaline fueled talent, Cirque Zuma Zuma lights up the stage with an astonishing display of nonstop action that includes drums, music, dance, acrobatics, tumbling and contortions. The Pend Oreille Arts Council is excited to be bringing this African troupe to the Panida on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m.

You don’t want to be the one who wakes up on Sunday saying, “Dang, I missed it,” trust me. Billed as a performance unlike anything you have ever seen before, the pure energy of these performers will make you want to jump out of your seat to join them.

Don’t believe me? Go to zumazuma.com/show-features and watch the video for yourself. If it’s not your cup of tea, stay home and eat your crumpets, but you can bet that I’ll be there totally prepared to be amazed at how a human body could possibly move like theirs do.

The best comment in the reviews I read stated “One of the things I really love about circus is when mere mortals do the seemingly impossible.” That’s a perfect description of these talented performers from Kenya and Tanzania.

Another review from Emily Urban at the Iowa State Daily said, “The performance from Cirque Zuma Zuma was entertaining to all ages. Gasps and exclamations of awe were frequent as the acts continued to surprise us. You never knew what would come next. From the start of the show to the end of the show, the children behind me, off to the sides, and in front were all enthralled.”

Bring the whole family. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for youth 18 and under and can be purchased online at ww.artinsandpoint.org, at the POAC Office and Gallery, Eve’s Leaves, Winter Ridge and Eichardt’s. Tickets also can be purchased the evening of the performance at 6 p.m. at the Panida box office.

A portion of ticket sales will go to provide funding for the CZZ troupe to teach a workshop to our local school children as part of POAC’s Ovations program.

Sponsors for this evening’s performance are Idaho Community Foundation, WESTAF, Evans Brothers Coffee Roasters, KPND, CAL, Equinox Foundation, Innovia Foundation, Union Pacific Foundation, Yoke’s and Bonner County Daily Bee.
