Neighborhood Watch meeting is set

| January 23, 2019 12:00 AM

There will be a community informational meeting next month on all the aspects of the Neighborhood Watch and Community Force programs that are sponsored by the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office and the volunteers of the Community Force who make it happen.

Priest River residents and watch captains Kellie Risso, Rocky Wright and Judy Black will be the host of the informational meeting.

Coffee and refreshments will be served and all are invited to attend.

“it is important to note that the Neighborhood Watch/Community Force is not a vigilante program,” Kellie Risso said. “It’s neighbors getting to know each other, taking time to care about each other and working together in a satisfying program of mutual assistance.

“It is community members being trained to recognize and report suspicious activity in their neighborhoods”

By cooperating with each other and law enforcement, Risso said citizens can help fight crime the most effective way — before it begins.

The meeting will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, at River City Christian Fellowship Church, 381 Fourth Street (across from the elementary school) in Priest River. It will begin at 11 a.m.
