Sandpoint Nordic Ski Team races at Skiesta

The Sandpoint Nordic junior race team has been training four times a week since early December, and the results showed this past weekend at the Skiesta skate ski race in Seeley Lake, Mont.
Five of the eight Sandpoint kids finished in the top tier of their divisions (3K, 5K, 10K male and female). This was the first ski race for several of the kids, so nerves were high at race start, but coaches Jeannie Higgs and Ross Longhini prepped the kids for the speed and stamina required for the races.
Regardless of finishing position, the team is better prepared for future races after their experiences at Skiesta.
