Olesen, Fleck advance at North Idaho Rumble

Sandpoint wrestlers Casey Olesen and Isaiah Fleck survived and advanced on the first day of the North Idaho Rumble on Friday. Both Olesen and Fleck picked up a pair of wins to the quarterfinals of the 120-lb. and 160-lb. divisions, respectively.

Olesen faces Post Falls’ Lane Reardon in the quarterfinals tomorrow. Should Olesen advance, he will face two very familiar foes for the title; Lakeland’s Chander Axtell and Lake City’s Devin Sorrelle await on the other side of the bracket.

Isaiah Fleck faces Lakeland’s Colton Boettcher in the quarterfinals tomorrow. The pair last met at the Battle for the Paddle, in which Boettcher won by tech fall in 3:52.

Action resumes Saturday at 9 a.m.
