Before the government was reopened, the Democrats had suggested that the President open it for two weeks so that a budget settlement can be negotiated. My question is: What the heck have they been doing for the last three weeks? Can you say Lucy and the football?

Congress has basically one job that they must do. It must be done every year — year in and year out. That task does not jump out of the shadows to surprise everyone. That task is to make a budget. Every year they just can’t seem to get the job done and keep pushing through continuing resolutions. If the morons in D.C. can’t get their one job done, the people must vote them all out and send some low wage blue collar workers in to take their place. You know — someone that knows how to budget money.

All I can say is that they should be glad that I am not president. I would announce that I would never sign a continuing resolution and carry through with that threat. Congress needs to do their job.
