Inside Edge: Junior Race Series wraps up

Junior Race Series – The series came to an end with one more night of racing.

Several athletes improved their handicaps in a push for the team gold medals. The trophy winners for fastest boys were: Cadin Billstin and Austin Billstin; while Josie Buoy and Sydnie Knepper won for the girls.

The Most Improved for boys and girls were Felix Hurt and Lia Bradford, respectively.

The Rut Monsters, coached by Billy Weiden, was the top team, as each member recieved medals.

A raffle and celebration was held afterwards.

Starlight Series Kick-off – Time for the adults to play.

This Friday will be the first night of competition for the adults, where they’ll be vying for prizes and bragging rites. Teams must have at least one female.

Age, gender and type of conveyance (skis, Tele, snowboard) are factored into adjusted handicaps. Ancient female snowboarders are in high demand!

Western Region Speed Series underway – The top 15-21 year old racers in the West are competing on Cathedral Aisle and Zip Down this week. Downhill races will be run Thursday and Friday, then Super G over the weekend. If you want to volunteer, contact SARS at 946-7859.

Potpourri - Several local racers head to Mission Ridge, WA for slalom competition this weekend, and the EEYSL crowd will be doing Super G and GS at 49 Degrees North. Look for the full report next week.
