FABULOUS FOURTH KICKS OFF WEEK OF GREAT OPTIONS
SANDPOINT – Happy Independence Day. The fun starts first thing this morning with the Children’s Parade downtown and the Grand Parade to follow, then it’s on to City Beach for stage performances and raffles. The daylong bash ends with the spectacular fireworks display at City Beach at dusk. As always, kudos and thanks to the Sandpoint Lion’s Club for putting on this family friendly event.
Local music venues are busier than ever starting this evening, running through the weekend and right on into next week.
On Sunday, take part in the garden tour of eight lovely, local gardens, sponsored by the Bonner County Gardeners Association. Also Sunday, a special afternoon concert by the Real Sarahs at the Pend d’Oreille Winery Tasting Room.
Archery buffs will want to catch the Full Draw Film Tour next Wednesday at the Panida.

Fourth of July Celebration & Fireworks
Venue: Parades in downtown Sandpoint; Fireworks at City Beach.
Time: Children’s Parade, 9 a.m.; Grand Parade, 10 a.m.; fireworks at dusk (about 9:30 p.m.)
Sandpoint Lions Club sponsors parades downtown in the morning; stage performances and a raffle follow at City Beach in the afternoon, plus fireworks at dusk. This is Sandpoint’s Independence Day party and fun for the whole family – all day long.

After the fireworks, celebrate at the Niner with Sandpoint’s iconic local band, Harold’s IGA. A 4th of July fixture at the Niner, this local’s favorite multi-instrumental trio will entertain you playing folk rock originals and off-the-beaten track covers.

MickDuff’s Beer Hall is throwing our own Fourth of July Backyard Party with one of the newest talents to town, Jennifer Stoehner. Jennifer and her piano are excited to set up shop on the lawn for the Fourth and get everybody partying for the holiday.

‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’
Venue: Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Teenaged Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) is a legend in his own time thanks to his uncanny skill at cutting classes and getting away with it. Intending to make one last grand duck-out before graduation, Ferris calls in sick, “borrows” a Ferrari, and embarks on a one-day bacchanal through the streets of Chicago.

Bonner County Garden Tour
Venue: Eight gardens in a self-guided tour.
Tie: 10 a.m-5 p.m.
The Bonner County Gardeners Association presents the 2019 Bonner County Garden Tour that includes eight of the area’s most interesting and inspirational gardens. Bring your camera, and take home some ideas.
Admission: $15, available online or at any of the gardens on tour day. Proceeds benefit the BCGA, a nonprofit providing community horticultural educational programs and beautification projects.
