UMC hosting visit with Katherine Parker

| July 5, 2019 1:00 AM

Katherine Parker, United Methodist missionary to Nepal, will be in Sandpoint on Saturday, July 6, at 10 a.m. to share her story of mission through words and pictures.

Parker has served in Nepal for several years. She works primarily with women and children, teaching life skills including nutrition and hygiene.

The current priority project which Sandpoint Methodists have contributed to is covering packed dirt floors in school classrooms with wood and sometimes covering that with foam and carpet. It costs about $300 to improve one classroom.

The public is cordially invited to join the congregation at 711 Main, next to the four-way stop at Boyer and Cedar. Light refreshments will be served.

Consider this a wonderful opportunity to see, hear and learn about another culture 8,000 miles from Sandpoint where we take education and simple life skills for granted.
