NAMI announces July's speaker

SANDPOINT — NAMI Far North is announcing Gini Woodward as the speaker for this month’s meeting on Wednesday, July 17.

Woodward is a tireless advocate for people with mental illness and their families. With 30 years of support for her daughter living with severe and persistent mental illness in the State of Idaho, Gini embraces every challenge as an opportunity to learn about the illnesses and the system which provides care and treatment, NAMI officials said in a statement.

She will be discussing several books, including one called “Breakdown,” followed by a discussion questions for the group along with a valuable resource list.

After the general meeting, participants will break out into support groups.

Everyone is welcome, particularly those living with mental illness, are a family member or a friend of someone with mental illness.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Bonner General Health classroom, located on the first floor. Enter at the main door from the parking lot at Third Street and Poplar.
